In defense of Lahmian Medium.
After watching this video, I decided to pick up a bottle of Lahmian Medium and give it a shot.
I've been using Liquitex Matte Medium for a while now, and found that it's fairly thick, and I needed to water it down a lot to use on miniatures. And watering down medium makes it more like water than medium.
Lahmian Medium was great right out of the pot, and I was able to make a glaze with it easily. I also used it for some layering and to make washes.
One common comment I've seen regarding Lahmian is that it's just medium that can be gotten for cheaper at an art store, but Lahmian seems to be much thinner than the Liquitex, while still being a medium.
I'm going to stock up on this stuff while it's still available. GW will inevitably change their paint line, and I'd like to have a stash to tide me over if I ever have to go looking for a suitable replacement.
